What Course is Right for me?
There are 3 courses available. What Course is Right for me? This can largely depend on what your local licensing team have decided what course you are required to have.
More and more local authorities are asking kennels, dog walkers, boarders etc; to have a Level 3 qualification and some still require the Level 2 certificate.

The courses are:
- Advanced Pet First Aid Level 3 (VTQ)
- Pet First Aid for Pet Professionals Level 3 (VTQ)
- Canine First Aid Level 2 (VTQ)
Advanced Pet First Aid (VTQ) goes into further detail than the Level 2 course; with more about the different injuries and illnesses; that can affect dogs and cats.
The course also covers the anatomy and physiology of animals and different first aid treatments that are available. Although the treatment is basically the same between dogs and cats, the advanced course has a dedicated section to cats.
This course is a ProTrainings Vocational Training Qualification (VTQ) and is ideal for pet professionals or individuals.
Pet First Aid for Pet Professionals Level 3 (VTQ) covers much more details about the different injuries and illnesses that can affect dogs and cats.
The course has been designed to give the pet professional much more information; in order to be able to detect early when something is wrong and give the appropriate care.
It is aimed to meet the level 3 pet first aid requirements for pet professionals; laid down by the latest government and council guidance.
The course also covers the anatomy and physiology of animals and different first aid treatments that are available. Although the treatment is basically the same between dogs and cats; the advanced course has a dedicated section to cats.
This course is a ProTrainings Vocational Training Qualification (VTQ) and is ideal for pet professionals or individuals.
Canine First Aid Level 2 (VTQ) is similar to our Pet First Aid course but for those who just want a course that only covers dogs. It is not as in-depth as the Level 3 courses; and is ideal for those who are not required to have the higher level qualification.
This course is aimed at anyone who requires a course in first aid for dogs. It is ideal for dog owners or dog professionals. Understanding basic first aid for your dog will give you the skills; to assist them and prevent them from getting worse before your vet gives professional help. The certificate is valid for three years.
This qualification is also available with an Endorsed Certificate from TQUK, for an extra charge if required.
